Since Halloween, A LOT has happened for us out here. We got an apartment, we survived a couple's trip to Ikea, Pat got a job, and Pat started his job! Now that things have calmed down a bit, we are planning to post a bit more (Sally and Mary Ellen...we promise!)
Rich and Erica were kind enough to house us and let us love their dogs for quite a few weeks, and then after looking at some really "interesting" apartments, we found one. We are now located in Montclair Village, which is part of Oakland. Our little car has so many hills to climb to get up to our new place, but it's a really great spot. The downtown area is adorable, with lots of tiny little shops and cute restaurants, and the best part is that it is walking distance, or a 4 minute drive from our apartment. We have some great outdoor deck space, although we haven't been able to utilize too much because of winter, meaning rain. T G it's not snow!!!
So we've been in our apartment almost a month now, and honestly it has been so great! We moved in on a Friday, went to Ikea on Saturday, and were almost entirely moved in on Sunday. A big shout out to the Butti men for lending us their truck and for helping us build ALL of our Ikea furniture.
We're going to do a big photo dump for you here to catch up with our new life out here, and moving forward we'll post more regularly!
Missing all of our East Coast loved ones!!!

When you're on one income, new to a state, and have 25 dollars for two costumes, you get....a "French kiss" and a German drinker! Or, an American drinker dressed as a German??? |

Erica and Rich were kind enough to let us tag along for one of their friend's Halloween Parties! |
 |
On the Sunday after Halloween, we went into San Francisco for a Día de los muertos parade and celebration. We ate at a hole in the wall spot in the Mission, and it was unreal! We also had a chance to walk around the Mission, where families had created shrines for loved ones. |

Our first meal in Montclair Village was at this unreal taqueria, which anyone who visits us will be going to, if only for us to have another reason to eat there |

The night we moved in we went to Sausalito to celebrate and have some wine and oysters on the water |

Every Monday we drive into SF for soccer. This was taken as we were coming out of the tunnel on Treasure Island. We will both work in the city on Mondays now, so no more drives into SF during rush hour :-) |

Over Thanksgiving we dog sat for Rich and Erica and had some fun with Gizmo and Koda |

These two little buggers climbed into bed with us on the morning after Thanksgiving at 5 am...but we do still love them! |

After a great Thanksgiving with the Buttis, we decided to do a Thanksgiving for Two. I roasted my first chicken! |

This past weekend we went out for the day in SF and had lunch at Waterbar . This is the "Ultimate Bloody Mary", and yes, it was absolutely worth all $20 that it cost |
